Jessica dominguez
Thank you & mil gracias for taking the time to learn more about me. My name is Jessica Xochilt Dominguez, and my pronouns are she/her/ella. I’m a proud Xicana, first gen daughter of immigrants from México, and have established my home within the community of the East Bay of California, on occupied Ohlone land. I was raised primarily in the Central Valley of California, and lived for a few years in Nayarit, México (Wixárika/Huichol and Náayerite/Cora territories) as a child. I am bilingual and provide therapy in English and español.
I actively center culture in my life, spiritual practice, and therapeutic work, and am a firm believer that connecting to our culture can promote healing, growth, self-acceptance, help us shed internalized oppressive views, as well as foster self-awareness and a deeper connection to our more authentic selves. I am passionate about social justice and working with the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), Latine, and Chicano communities, and am honored to help support others with their decolonization & reindigenizing process, reconnect and reclaim their inner power, innate resilience, and ancestral strength and wisdom. My therapeutic approach is an Integrative one, with an emphasis in Liberation Psychology.
I provide psychotherapy to adults residing in the state of California via telehealth, as well as consultation and training for community partners.
I am humbled to serve as councilmember with the Institute of Chicanx/a/o Psychology and Community Wellness, and am currently on the Camino Rojo, learning the old ways of how to carry fire, bajo las ordenes de Abuela Tlazoltiani Zamarripa.
